Farmstead Artists celebrated their 4th summer of displaying and selling art at the Farmstead Barn on Route One in Sullivan with four monthly shows in June, July, August, and September. New this year was the addition of a third day to the weekend shows. On display were artworks in a variety of media: watercolors, oils, acrylics, collages, drawings in ink and colored pencil. Over the course of the 12 days, 196 pieces of original art were sold.
In August we were honored to host a guest speaker, Maine artist Phiip Frey. Held in the late afternoon on Friday, Phil's presentation included an art talk and slide show of his work, as well as having several original paintings on display. After he took questions from the standing-room-only audience, he raffled off three copies of his beautiful book.
Two new members were added this year: Renata Moise and Penny Ricker, both recurring guest artists. They join member artists: Becky O'Keefe, Bethany Preble, Brooke Simon, Carol Michaud, Hugo Diaz, Janis Guyette, Linda Malaussena, Mary Laury, Mavis Davis, Melissa Rioux, Pamela Hall, Rick Sawyer, Steve Brookman, and Suzanne Becque.
Guest artists displaying their art in 2025 were: Robert Clay, Carol Benson, Laurie Leiser, Lynn Amsterdam, Louise Vinueza, Nancy Coyne, and Tony Scarlatos.
Artists who are Maine residents, or who live in Maine a substantial part of the year, are welcome to apply to be Guest Artists in the 2026 summer season. Applications are available on this website and may be submitted anytime.
We continue to be extremely grateful to Judy Ashby and Ray Weintraub, owners of the historic Farmstead Barn, for their generosity and friendship.
